How I Made $170 in Two Days with Affiliate Marketing!
The other day as I was going through my affiliate dashboard, I was excited to see that I have earned over $170 in just two days.
Though this amount is not life-changing, however, little wins like this motivate me to keep working on my affiliate marketing side hustle.
By the way, this is not the first time I have made affiliate commissions, I have been doing this since 2019.
In this quick read, I will walk you through the exact steps I follow to generate affiliate commissions regularly.
What you will learn:
Step 1: How I pick a niche
Step 2: How I invest in the right tools and resources
Step 3: How I put in work and get results
Step 4: How I became an affiliate for those tools and resources
Step 5: How I promote affiliate products and offers

Step 1: Picking and Sticking with a Niche
Picking and sticking with a single niche is the very first step that you should follow to make passive income online.
In my case, I focus on the self-publishing niche. I have been creating and publishing low and medium-content books on Amazon KDP.
This niche works well for me because I have a decent experience with it and love creating and selling books on Amazon.
I have creating content in this niche since 2019 in the form of video tutorial and blog posts. Sticking with a single niche for such long time is one of the reason I get affiliate sales every single month.
Step 2: Investing in the Right Tools
To create and publish books on Amazon, I purchased a lot of tools that helped me start and scale my self-publishing journey.
I bought tools to research and create both low and medium-content books, including journals, notebooks, planners, puzzle books, workbooks, and many more.
The KDP tools and resources I bought, helped me start and scale my self-publishing journey. I use tools to research, create, and publish books in less amount of time.
My process is quite simple: I make money from self-publishing and reinvest a portion of it into buying KDP tools and courses.
Step 3: Seeing Results from My Efforts
In my opinion, this is the most crucial step in making money online. You need to put in work and get results.
You can’t just buy courses and tools and let them sit on your hard drive. Use them to scale your business and get results. This is what I do on a regular basis.
Having access to the right tools and putting in time and effort, I was able to make passive income with my low and medium-content books.
Step 4: Becoming an Affiliate for the Tools I Use
Next comes the most exciting step. Once you use tools and resources in your own business and find them useful, you are ready to share them with others.
Once I started seeing results, I became an affiliate for most of the tools that helped me succeed.
Signing up for an affiliate account is quite simple. Most of the time, you will find a link on their website. You can fill out the affiliate application form or just shoot the creator a message on their social media.
Step 5: How I Promote Affiliate Products and Offers
I promote these resources on my YouTube channel, personal blog, and Medium page, where I share tutorials and tips about self-publishing.
Most of the time, I record my laptop screen to share my book research and book creation process. While doing so, I showcase the tools that I use to create and publish books on Amazon.
Then I re-purpose my YouTube video into a short blog post to publish on my personal blog or Medium page.
While doing so, I share my affiliate links to the tools I use both in my YouTube videos and blog posts.
Step 6: Earning Passive Income Every Month
Because I’m actively promoting the tools I believe in, I now generate affiliate sales consistently every month.
The affiliate income ($170 I made in two days) is the result of the aforementioned steps that I follow whenever I promote a new tool or product to my audience.
Though my numbers are not that staggering, but they do help supplement my overall monthly income.
What I like most about affiliate marketing is that I don’t need to create any product myself, nor do I need to handle refunds and customer support.
Conclusion
In conclusion, affiliate marketing can be a great way to make passive income online, provided you do it correctly.
Remember, I only promote tools and resources that I personally use and find useful for my audience. This gives me a sense of confidence to go ahead and create content promoting these tools and resources.
In my opinion, affiliate marketing is much easier compared to creating and selling a product from scratch, building a website, running ads, and handling refunds and customer support.
I’ve doing affiliate marketing for over four years, and these small wins are the result of consistent effort, adding value to my audience, and sharing my experience with them.
If you’re looking to build a passive income, I highly recommend finding a niche you love, using the right tools, and sharing your experience with others!
