My focus is on passive income ideas that allow you to get started for Free or a little from your pocket.

# 1: Content Creation

Content creation is one of the best ways I use to make money online on a consistent basis.

So, what is content creation? Well, speaking, writing, or making videos about something you know that others may not is called content creation.

In other words, sharing your learning, your wins, and your losses in the form of a video, an article, or an audio is content creation.

I have been creating YouTube videos and blog posts about self-publishing, making money online, affiliate marketing, and digital products. I monetize my content via ads, affiliate commissions, and product sales.

Now, creating a YouTube channel didn’t cost me much except I bought screen recording software for $18/year. I edit videos myself and create thumbnails using the free version of Canva.

When it comes to blogging, on average, it costs me less than $10 per month for hosting and domain renewals.

You can even start a free blog via platforms like Medium, WordPress, and systeme.io.

# 2: Self-Publishing

I have been self-publishing low-content and medium-content books on Amazon since May 2017. I made my first royalty payment of $1.44 in July 2017.

Since then, I have been making consistent monthly income by self-publishing.

Now the real question: how much did I spend to make money with this method? Well, I started with a little eBook I bought for $10 in April 2017 and didn’t spend a dime for the next 2 years.

At that point, I was making a few hundred dollars per month. Then, in June 2019, I invested in a couple of Amazon KDP courses to learn more about this passive income side hustle.

One of those courses was LCB Vault, which I found really helpful for doing niche research, finding low-competition keywords, and creating good quality book covers.

At the time of writing, I still continue to make passive income via self-publishing.

However, I have slowed down my book creation process, as I now focus more on quality than quantity.

# 3: Selling Digital Products

This is one of my favorite ways to make money online. I create digital products around my self-publishing side hustle and sell them on Gumroad.

I started with this method by creating freebies for my YouTube viewers and blog readers.

I wanted to help them start creating and publishing low-content and medium-content books on Amazon KDP.

So, I created a handful of KDP interior templates and keyword lists to sell on Gumroad. Then I shared the links inside my YouTube videos and blog posts. I still do the same.

Conclusion!

In conclusion, you don’t need a huge budget to start making money online. You can even get started for free.

As you read through the post, I didn’t spend a lot in the beginning.

However, I did spend money on KDP courses and tools only when I started making money from this online income idea.
